Avid Markers

You can import your InqScribe transcript notes into Avid as markers. These markers will stay with your timeline even through cuts and insertions. This is a convenient method for passing notes to editors, for instance.

NOTE: This exporter is experimental. Please contact us if you have any issues or have any requests.

INSTRUCTIONS

Select your InqScribe transcript, set any parameters, click "Convert + Download", review the results, then import into Avid.

  1. Prepare your transcript file

    Your transcript should:

  1. Match your Avid project's frame rate. e.g. if your Avid project is using 30fps, make sure your InqScribe transcript is also set to 30fps. (Alternatively you can use the framerate override in Step 3 below).
  2. Have "in" points. See the example InqScribe Transcript below for a transcript with in points.
  3. Start at 01:00:00 (1 hr). If it doesn't you can use InqScribe's "Adjust timecode" feature to add "01:00:00" to your transcript.
  1. Select your InqScribe transcript file to upload for conversion

  1. Select the framerate override you would like your markers to be exported in

This will override the media framerate set in your transcript. The framerate of the exported subtitles should match the framerate of your Avid project.

  1. Set the author

This will be the author of every marker in the transcript. (In the future we may use the "speaker" field as the author.)

  1. Set the track

This will designate the Avid track for every marker in the transcript.

  1. Set the color

This will be the color of every marker in the transcript.

  1. Convert and Download

Your transcript will not be saved on the server*.

  1. Import the markers into Avid

Please refer to your Avid Media Composer documentation.
